ABOUT RVCA
R.V College of Architecture was instituted in
1992-93, as a Department of Architecture of R V College of Engineering, with an
intake of 30 students. The college was nurtured by eminent Architectural
Educationists like Dr. K S Anantha Krishna, Late Prof. Sudheendra Yalavigi and
others. Dr Om Prakash Bawane, an alumnus of NIT Bhopal and IIT Rourkee, is the
Principal of the College.The department started to make a mark by its
earnestness to the cause of architectural education. Various workshops were
held and an exhibition hall consisting of a cross section of student’s works,
aided this process. The department shifted to its independent new premises in
the campus in 1995, a building designed by Late Prof. Sudheendra for which the
students added an artistic flavor.

Bachelor of Architecture
B.Arch. (Bachelor of Architecture) is a 5 years
long undergraduate level Degree course. This professional course is related to
the field of Architecture. Architecture
deals with design, planning and construction of buildings and other physical
structures. Usually buildings and physical structures are said to be the
product of architectural work. Sometimes, other than buildings, even construction
of non-building structures becomes a part of architecture. Each type of building has its own design and
distinctive style. It is the task of an architect to create such designs and
bring those plans to reality! In short, architecture plays a huge role in the
design and construction of humble homes and buildings to imposing dams, bridges
and tunnels! An architect is a professional, who through his/her skills, is

R.V College of Architecture provides a congenial
setting for the study of Architecture as a professional and creative
discipline. RVCA being 14089 sqm in area is located at site CA-1, Banashankari
6th Stage, 4th Block off Vajrahalli Main Road, Near Chikkegowdanapalya in
Bengaluru and is designed to facilitate and augment the pedagogy of
architecture through interactive and creative setting of studios, theory rooms,

Requirements
Eligibility
Candidates having minimum 50% marks in aggregate
(45% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates), in the qualifying examination,
are eligible to apply for the B.Arch course.
Only candidates who have the following
credentials shall be eligible for admission to B.Arch. Course.
i. Qualified a recognized aptitude test in
Architecture (NATA or equivalent) with a minimum of 80 marks out of 200 in 2017
(NATA Test for 2017-18 B. Arch admissions will be conducted in offline mode on
Sunday 16 April 2017. Please lookout for public announcement by COA in leading
newspapers) OR qualified in NATA -2017
AND
ii. Have gone through any of the following
curriculum with marks as prescribed below:
(a) secured 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent
examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects;
OR
(b) 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by
Central/State Govts with 50% aggregate marks with Mathematics;
OR
(c) International Baccalaureate Diploma
passed/appearing, after 10 years of Schooling with 50% marks in aggregate and
with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination

Admission Process
Important documents to be submitted to RVCA for completing
the admission process,
- Admission Order issued by KEA/COMEDK/MANAGEMENT
- Original 10th and 12th Marks Cards + NATA Score Card.
- If seat is claimed under category, then submit relevant category/income/rural/Kannada medium certificates.
- If the student has qualified other than PU Board of Karnataka, submit Transfer and Migration Certificates.
- KEA/COMEDK merit list/rank list copy.
- Address proof, identity proof, PAN card of parent and student as applicable in original. Aadhaar card of student is also required.
- 3 sets of photocopies of documents listed above.
- 4 copies each of recent passport size and stamp size colour photographs.
- Demand Drafts as applicable payable to ‘RV College of Architecture’ payable at Bangalore. (Cheques/cash strictly not acceptable).
- Anti Ragging affidavit. The name of student and parent/guardian would have to be typed in. Hand filled affidavits will not be accepted.
- Undertaking for payment of remaining fees (As applicable for each type of admission) for the course on withdrawal from course during the duration of study. The name of student and parent/guardian would have to be typed in. Hand filled affidavits will not be accepted.

The RV College of Architecture, Bangalore
placement department ensures that all eligible students are given equal
opportunity to get campus placement. The aim of the department is to organize
campus interviews and to provide all essential information for industry
placement as well as higher studies. The department also organizes seminars,
workshops, and other events to enhance the student’s technical know‐how and to improve their communication skills. All the
programs conducted by the RV College of Architecture Architecture placement are
geared towards helping each student get placed in a reputed company. The
department is also involved in conducting activities that will provide exposure
and experience for the students so that they will be able to perform well in
the work place.
In the last three academic years, from 2012‐13 to 2014‐15, the
college has placed maximum number of students in
some of the top companies across the country. On an average, the top placement
was in the ECE department followed by CSE and mechanical in the academic year
2012‐13. In the next year, there was a slight
shift in the numbers with more number of CSE students being placed, followed by
electronics & communication and mechanical. In the previous academic year,
2014‐15, the trend was almost similar with just few
more ECEstudents being placed compared to CSE and
Mechanical. If we follow the trend, then we can expect the placements 2016 in
RV College of Architecture to be almost similar with CSE, ECE, and mechanical
taking the top three spots.

International Collaborations

the RV College of Architecture in the architectural education in India in the
last two decades has achieved the college, the distinction of being one of
India’s premier centers of excellence for architecture and urban studies.
Collaboration with the Bern University of Applied Sciences,
Switzerland
The College has a two year MoU with the Bern
University of Applied Sciences, Architecture, Wood and Civil Engineerng,
Burgdorf Switzerland from 2011-13. It offers an opportunity to exchange two
students every year. Marks and assessments will be given by the partner school
and there will be a mutual acceptance. One of the master’s students from the
Bern University had joined the M Arch Urban Design Semester II in February
2012.
