RVCA is an autonomous college under VTU i.e. they have their own curriculum, exams and rules but the degree is given by VTU. The university's Department of Architecture offers an undergraduate program for a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.). Unique to the program is the chance to study in Mysore.The department also offers an accredited Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) program with two options, including one for students who hold an undergraduate degree in another major. Located on Mysore Road, School of Architecture – RVCE aka RVCA is inside the RVCE premises. Though it is quite far from the centre of the city, it’s easily accessible as a lot of BMTC buses ply here. College also provides bus facility for 15,000 a year, but it is not used by many people.

The RVCE campus is very nice and the School of Architecture (RVCA) building is also equally good. There are lovely courtyards, spacious classrooms and well lit studios.
